JOIN THE CONVERSATION! ICN2 FRAMEWORK FOR ACTION

by kkeeton | August 8, 2014

Stakeholders working in the food and nutrition sectors are cordially invited to share their opinions and comments on a draft Framework for Action to guide the Rome Declaration on Nutrition, which will be shared in November at the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2).

From November 19-21, 2014, the ICN2 will be held in Rome with the participation of Heads of State and Government, at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. The Conference will focus on how to address major nutrition challenges over the coming decades, specifically by identifying public policy priorities at the national and global levels to address under-nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and over-weight in order to achieve global nutrition targets by 2025.

In preparation for ICN2, the Member States of FAO and the World Health Organization have been preparing and discussing a draft Declaration on Nutrition, guided by an accompanying Framework for Action. After several rounds of discussion earlier this year, the organizers are now opening up the conversation to welcome input and comments from stakeholders directly involved in global nutrition, with special attention on issues relating nutrition education.

An online consultation on the ICN2 draft Framework for Action is now open for comments, hosted by the FSN Network, an open community of food security and nutrition implementers seeking to create opportunities to share information, shape agendas, understand and influence donor priorities, build consensus on promising practices, and widely diffuse technical knowledge.

Please consider joining the discussion by providing comments on guided questions regarding the draft Framework for Action. This is your opportunity to directly contribute to the Conference and its outcomes.
