All living organisms on this planet depend on soil for their survival, according to Shahidur Rashid, a senior research fellow at the International Food Policy Institute.
In honor of World Soil Day on December 4th, Dr. Rashid got 'down to earth' in a new IFPRI video, where he explains why the world should take care of its soil. The benefits trickle down from impacts on food, clothing, and shelter, to improved livelihoods, health, and nutrition.
